So Bookends already has an OpenURL preference pane which has a Servers list (URL) and a single search arguments (query). BUT there is no way to link a server to a query, as there is only one search argument (query) box. Jon had previously mentioned that he'd like to redesign this in another thread, and this is just a formal feature request to redesign this panel so that each Server has its own query field. We could then have multiple servers each with its own query. If we could add a "name" to this pair we could also have nicer Context Menu>OpenURL Search>...; the interface would be a simple 3 column table [name][query]. This small GUI change would in ... ic scholar is an excellent new bibliographic search tool and I would like to integrate a semantic scholar API search for refs via DOI into Bookends: https://api.semanticscholar.org/ - very simple in that the API has a URL (api.semanticscholar.org) and query parameter (/doi). There are several other examples of tools that can easily be segmented this way, like Scopus.

It looks like you're asking for two things in one post. Please don't do that -- a separate thread for each different topic makes the forum more useful. Once the dust of the next Bookends release has settled we can revisit these. Please post again, perhaps with move of an explanation of why you need more than one query per server.

Hi Jon, sorry if my post was confusing (have reeditied it to make it clearer). I am asking for one feature only: That for each server you can have a query attached to that server — URL-A+QUERY-A . Perhaps this table makes the UI easier to envisage:
Currently you can add many servers but they are all forced to use the same query.
