Hi,

Using the IEE format, I see styled reference examples like:

I. C. Brown\textit{ et al.}, ``Towards a Taxonomy for Web Observatories,'' \textit{WWW `14 Companion}, vol. Proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on World Wide Web, pp. 1067-1072, 2014

Which should be:

I. C. Brown et al., “Towards a Taxonomy for Web Observatories,” WWW ’14 Companion, vol. Proceedings of the 23rd International Conference on World Wide Web, pp. 1067-1072, 2014

This seems to affect other formats if I try that. What might be the cause of this LaTeX bleed-through?

In preferences or Biblio -> Bibliography set the bibliography output to Styled Text (instead of BibTeX).

Ah, I see the cause now. I tend to chop between formats and had indeed last exported (from this Mac) using BibTex.
