I named my new library 'Law Library.bdb (Law Library with with bdb prefix)

I back-up manually.

Now whenever i close and quit B and open again (not straightway), the file that opens is 'Law Library backup.bdb

Is that normal behaviour or should it be opening Law Library.bdb and if so there where would i find the main file to open it?

Bookends opens the last-opened library automatically. You should use File -> Backup (if you want to backup from within Bookends). It's a good idea to leave automatic backup checked in preferences, too (you can still do manual backups whenever you want -- and use whatever folder you want for those).

Noted, thank you.
When i said I do back-up manually, i meant File>Backup. not that I back up outside Bookends.
I have found the main file and shall not clear menu in future so that I open the main file.

Addendum:

I note that the auto back-up minimum is every 1 day. Which means that if i want to back-up more often then i should have to use File>Back-up. In which case would that most recent back-up be the last file opened or would it still be the main file?
