Importing library records saved to local disk

Post by spd »

When not using BE's Internet Search Utility to search/save records directly, how does one go about saving library searches that can be imported into a BE DB? My new college library allows me to email saved searches in different formats, or directly download them to my computer. I tried all formats offered (Brief, Full, Procite, Endnote, and MARC) but none will import properly into BE 8.1. The MARC display on the browser looks like what I want since it includes the fields most useful to me.

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at the User Guide. Bookends will import MARC, EndNote, and ProCite, but the filters probably need some tweaking to match the exact output from your library.

Thanks Jon for the prompt reply (as always). I just downloaded the User Guide.
