Bookends uses amazon api to search isbn now, but amazon in china doesn't work it always returns "You are submitting requests too quickly. Please retry your requests at a slower rate." error.

I live in China and I don't know this error is only for my machine or aws in China has some strange problems. I hope others can help me to clear the problem

In China, douban is another choice to search Chinese books, it has a nice public restful api too, the document is https://developers.douban.com/wiki/?title=book_v2, if amazon service is blocked in China, douban api is the only hope for people like me (I use bookends to manager Chinese books mainly).

I get that message from Amazon China, too. But I've found that if I persist the search does work eventually. You can also use the Library of Congress to search for ISBNs (or any one of hundreds of university libraries -- if you have a Chinese library/institution that has Z39.50 support send me the information (server name/ip address, port, and database name) and I'll create a filter for you (or you can do it yourself, it's easy).
