Hi there.

I am using chicago 17. with short titles for repeated works, rather than Ibid.

my format for subsequent titles of books is .

a, s.

But, Why don't I always get consistent italics? (I.e.the two highlighted entries below should look the same.)

Mathews, Gen 1-11:26, 241-42.
Mathews, Gen 1-11:26, 233-35.

thanks

I don't know -- check the font for the short title that's not being italicized and make sure it's the default (not a font that doesn't have an italic face).

I'm having the exact same issue with this version of Bookends (13.25). I had not changed fonts but even if I change to Arial, I get no italics in the journal name whatsoever (and in the Formats Manager, j is indeed italicized). Thoughts? Thanks.

Please contact tech support directly with your library, the format you are using, and a one paragraph document to be scanned that shows the problem.
