Avoiding duplicates among static groups

Is there any way to replicate a reference so as to have it within more than one static group without duplicating it?
You don't duplicate a reference for that. A single reference can belong to as many static groups as you like. Just drag it from the reference list into each static group you want it to belong to.

I went to remove duplicates and all 40 some cases were related to being in different static groups. But that must have come that way when I imported from Zotero. Thanks!
