I have a folder mytest that is stored externally to the main Attachments folder (on Google drive in this case). I created an alias to this folder into the main Attachments folder.

I tried to set the default library subfolder for the library to the alias folder mytest using the Browse button. After I selected the mytest alias "folder", the error message returned was "Your selection is not a subfolder in the default attachment folder." However, I can set the default library subfolder to mytest using the menu selection option.

Subfolders must be in the default folder, and Bookends enforces that. You can't test for every edge case -- aliases won't appear in the popup in the future.
