Hello, all: I am clearly missing something basic.

What is Edit:Copy Hypertext Link:Copy as Link supposed to do?

For me, sometimes on paste I'll get the title (as set in preferences), sometimes I'll get the bookends link (bookends://sonnysoftware.com/####), sometimes nothing.

Partly this is just curiosity, since what I'm really trying to do is

1. paste a markdown link to a Bookends item (which I can probably do using Copy as Text with a bit of automation)

2. design a format that includes a markdown link to the Bookends item

It copies a hypertext link that, when pasted into compatible document, creates a live link that take you to that reference in Bookends. Not all apps accept such links, so you have to make sure whatever one you're using does. For an example that works try TextEdit.
