The Gear icon at the bottom left corner in the left pane has the setting to toggle Multiple Selections. This toggle would be more convenient to appreciate and use when it would be located as its own popup (e.g. next to the Gear icon).

I don't plan to add more interface elements, especially ones so narrow in scope, there are enough. You can also toggle the boolean with a right-click, if that makes any difference.
