After having cloud synced my iPad Mini6 and attempting to download a pdf, the pdf commences but crashes part way through and I see the following: Cannot open page. File format not supported. I’ve attached a screenshot.

Thoughts?

The file may not be a PDF or is a corrupted PDF. If you find it in Files.app try to open it another app that can read PDFs (e.g. Acrobat Reader or Books). Or move it to the Mac and try with Preview.

Also, please try setting Settings -> Internal Web Browser -> Use Safari View Controller, it it's not already.

And please send your url example to support@referencesontap.com

TY Jon. The Safari suggestion has solved the problem.

I am a longtime use...Pls humor me with an answer to one more question: I thought that when an IOS device syncs with the cloud library, the pdf file is also sent to the IOS device. Is there a setting that I am overlooking. After a sync I see the 'paperclip' symbol but not the file. so I am functionally downloading each document twice.

Many Thanx

The PDF is synced by iCloud Drive, not Bookends per se, and it does it on Apple's schedule. It may lag behind syncing of the metadata (which *is* done by Bookends). I don't know if that's the case here, but it may be.

Ah. That's explains the time delays I have been observing.

TY So Much!
