Is there some way to do this?

When I select XML (EndNote or Sente) in the Import References dialog, the clipboard option gets disabled.

I tried EndNote Export (Refer) but it doesn't seem to find the XML on the clipboard.

Bookends expects the XML to be in a file. Drop the .xml file onto the library window and Bookends will automatically select the XML importer for you.
