Bookends Stopped Working When I "Scan Document"

Hello,
I've been using Bookends for a while now with no issues. However, this evening when I tried to "scan document" in Microsoft Word, Bookends freezes. No references are scanned/added.
I have a big paper due in 2 hours, so if anyone is having a late night and has a clue about this, I'd love some assistance.

**UPDATE** I rebooted my system and things are working fine!
