Thank you, it's been fun. I've been wanting to make reference linking more approachable (integral? organic?) for some time (cross-linking is great for hierarchical relationships between references, but it doesn't link content). As is often the case, inspiration (if that's the word) came from looking at other software, in this case Obsidian. Of course linking references is much different from linking notes, but the notion that you trigger the linking machinery from the keyboard and then type a few letters to find the target made me realize we already created this workflow for floating citations. It was then a matter of adapting that approach for internal links (very different actual code, but a similar concept).
