I've created a number of new reference types. Now when I open the pop-up window in the "reference edit pane" to change the reference type, I get a long, unsorted list.

Is there any way to reorder this list?

If there's no easy way to do this in the GUI, which file in the Bookends folder contains this list? I was thinking I could maybe edit it to rearrange things.

No, the list is hardcoded. Since Types are editable, this is how Bookends keeps track of the fields internally. Changing it would not be easy and would certainly result in many subtle (and not so subtle) bugs.
