I want Bookends not to automatically capitalize what I've entered in the Short Title field so I add a comma at the end of the field. This unfortunately also removes any text formatting such as italics that I have used in the field.

Am I correct in thinking this is a bug?

It's certainly not the intended behavior! It's fixed for the next update.
