Hi All,

Quick question. I use Bookends on my Mac. I also have an external HD that is used solely for Time Machine backups. My Bookends library is stored in my main Mac HD.

The issue: whenever I have Bookends up an running on my machine, a regular series of events begin:

1. I click anywhere in a Bookends window
2. Bookends is unresponsive for 5 - 15 seconds
3. My external HD activates
4. Bookends begins working normally after 5 - 15 seconds

It seems like Bookends is either operating from my external HD or or is accessing information stored on my external HD—both of which should not be the case.

Any thoughts on what's going on here?

I don't know what is happening, but it does sound like Bookends checking for something on drive. Look in Preferences, Manage Ad Hoc Attachment Folders. If there are any folders that are on the external HD and they are no longer being used for attachments, remove them from the list.
