Hi Jon,
I can't tell if this problem is a "Format" error on my part, or a little slip in Bookends with regard to name fields.
Here's how I have formatted my MLA style for book chapters:

Yes, I see. Try it when Bookends 9 is out and get back to me (via tech support) if there is still a problem (there shouldn't be).
