How to write keywords

There is probably a simple answer to this question. If I type in a keyword such as "Jes 6" and then want to find that specific reference in a search without getting a lot of other references in the hitlist, should I write that keyword as Jes6, or is there any other way to do it? My question is then, how should I type in keywords when they are not a single word and then get the expected results when I do a search for a reference with such keywords?

Either will work, but your might find i slightly easier if you avoid spaces or other punctuation in multi-word keywords. The reason is that the default searches in Bookends use an index, so punctuation is ignored. In addition, it's a case-insensitive "OR" search looking for matches at the beginning of words. A search for 'jes 6' is actually a search for 'jes' OR '6', and will match a reference containing, say, 'Jessica' and 'Motel 6'. The solution is to tell Bookends to ignore the index and search for the exact string. For Live Search, you would enter the text between quote marks: "jes 6". If the keyword is 'jes6', on the other hand, only references with words beginning with those 4 characters will be found.

So if you want to save the two extra keystrokes in the search (for the quote marks), use the keyword 'jes6'.
