Greetings,
Does anyone else find the following observation perplexing? An *extremely* common type of reference is a chapter from an edited book that is part of a series with a volume number. Bookends 8 did not accomodate this and Bookends 9 handles it as follows:
Volume (Multiple Volume Number): In a multiple volume work, the number of thevolume being cited. This appears in the drawer for some Types, like Book Chapter, that place the Book Title in the reference window in the field normally used for Volume.
However, when importing from Endnote, this reference type does not map over to Bookends correctly. It still places the volume number after the title of the book. One should not have to mess with filters to import this reference type. Is there anything I am overlooking, or do I need to resort to filters to handle this (in which case I lose everthing except plain text).

Re: "Volume" in Book Chapter type reference
My personal workaround regarding Book Chapter has been to keep Volume, well, in the field normally used for Volume, and move instead Series Title to the drawer (to User14, to be precise). This allows me, at long last, to correctly quote this class of references Bookends has not been capable of handling. By keeping Volume in the usual field, I can output styled text, which is a must when I have to quote a volume's title in full.jwh wrote:Does anyone else find the following observation perplexing? Re: "Volume" in Book Chapter type reference
Jon has now provided an updated import filter for Endnote 8/9 in the latest version of Bookends (9.0.1) which resolves this problem. Kudos for fast support!
