how to enable keyboard shortcuts in PDF annotation

I'm sure that there is some quick fix to this - could someone point me in the right direction?

each time I try to use a keyboard shortcut - I get an 'error sound' from my mac. For example, I highlight some text on a PDF inside BE using my mouse and the little annotation bar pops up, then I use Command-C as a keyboard shortcut but BE won't let the shortcut run. Iv'e got to click the annotation bar away to use the keyboard shortcut. I use the annitation bar alot for notecards/quotes, but sometimes I just want to copy some text into an empty field (e.g abstract, keywords) and so I'm using the keyboard shortcut.

This is an unintended consequence of changes made to the annotation popover window and is fixed in the next update.
