Transfer from Endnote to Bookends

Has anyone had similar issues? I have tried to transfer my data from Endnote 21 to Bookends 15.1.7, but have not done this successfully.
For “books” the transfer seem to have been successful and the “year“ field in bookends seems to have the correct year of publication.
But for ”Journal articles” the situation is more complicated. Endnote 21 has one “date” field and one “year” field. The “year” field always has the year of publication, and the “date” field either has a month in it (eg Jan) or it is empty. If the “date” field is empty then when the data is transferred from endnote to bookends, the “date” field is correctly populated with the year. However, if the ”date” field is not empty in Endnote then the year is not inserted into the corresponding ”date” field in Bookends. Instead the date field in Bookends then has the month in it rather than the year.
