I would like it to make cross-references or links from one reference to another.

sorry for posting this general. here is a concrete example when I think cross references in the database could be useful besides simple links to other entries in the notes or abstract:
If I have stored a edited book with lots of single essays in the database as well as some of the essays I would prefer to insert a cross reference into a field "source" instead of the whole bibliographic specifications which already are stored with the book.
Additional an option within the format would be great to insert if the cross reference is emebeded in the bibliography (than also the whole edited book must be cited in the bibliography) or if the missing bibliographic specifications are taken from the book entry and printed in the bibliography as if they were inserted with the essay.
Really brillant would be the option to set a minimum number of essays from one book which is used to switch from the above second mentioned option to the first one.
Hope it is possible to understand what I mean. My English is definitely too bad to say it more precisly. (Maybe what I want still works, but I don't find it in the guide because I don't know the search words.)
I make an example:

That looks like a very complicated way to do what you can do now so simply. Inserting the "whole bibliographic specifications" is simply a duplicate reference command away (which will work without the exception warning in the next beta or the final release, whichever comes first).

Sorry for asking again: It is possible to decide if the source of an essay is printed shortly (e. g. "Schuster/Darling 2001) and than the source itself as bibliography-entry OR ir you want to have all of them cited completely? I don't understand what this has to do with the duplicate-command.

I'm sorry, Reiner, but you've lost me. Let's table any further discussion of this. I'm conccentrating only on the next release.
