Hi,

I primarily use reports published on Sciencedirect.com. Most reports from this site can be traced through DOI.org by a link such as the following:
http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.enpol.2003.08.019
Is there a way of getting around the time-consuming task of copying the reference details, i.e. author names, title, publication dates, etc, and have them entered automatically through an import filter to Sciencedirect.com?

You'll notice at the top right is an option to "Export Citation". Do that, in RIS format. Bookends provides a filter that reads RIS and enters the reference into Bookends.

Please refer to the User Guide for more info about import filters, how to edit them, and how to use them.

I didn't realise there was an 'export citation' option within Sciencedirect. I expected that option to be within Bookends, i.e. the software querying the sciencedirect database directly.

ScienceDirect doesn't have z39.50 search capability, AFAICT. Is that wrong? If not, you have to use a browser interface. Then export citation is the way to go.
