Mixing multiple in-text citations and text

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to Bookends after having used EN for quite some time (and Reference Manager before that, back when I actually used Windows). My question concerns mixing multiple in-text citations with text. Here's an example, with the asterisk as the citation seperator:
{Bonito, 2001, #6728* Meeker, 1994, #2809* \cf. \Gastil, 1993, #2772}
I want the "cf." to appear before the last citation, but after the colon that separates the citations. (I'm using APA 5th style.) But here's what I get once I scan the document:
(Bonito, 2001; Meeker, 1994cf. Gastil, 1993)
As you can see, the second semi-colon doesn't appear (although the text information does), but the first one is where it's supposed to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
