is it possible for the List view window to adjust itself to fit the screen when the info pain is opened and closed?

Yes, it is possible, although it is not part of the Mac OS X HIG and no Apple apps do this.

Bookends can pioneer it

It would be handy, but no biggie i guess. I just need to buy a bigger display

Having that would maximize the main section of the list view so you can actually see everything in 5 columns. The shortcut key for the info drawer (if it adjusted to the screen) would make it that much nicer.
Another thing that helps this is not having the groups bar open unless necessary. But on my computer I can open the groups with the shortcut key assigned to it, but the same shortcut key doesn't close the bar back up. Can this be adjusted?

I don't think that's a good idea. There is no visual feedback that such an action would be a toggle.

Not exactly sure what this means

isn't the visual feedback the bar actually opening and/or closing?
Would a separate shortcut key for closing make sense then? Does it not make sense to be able to close a pane that can be opened via a shortcut key, or am I way off?
Anyway, not a huge issue that I'm worked up over, just a little more convenience. cheers!

Hi Danny,
I mean that you don't know it's a toggle until you've actually done it. And what if you've clicked on a group other than the one you used to open the pane? How would you close that?
A dedicated shortcut like Option-Command-G would make more sense, I think.

Oh okay, now I get it, and i didn't think about the confusion that may be caused over which group is shown. It would make sense, if this was implemented, for the group opened to stay open I think, because there are shortcuts for ALL and HITS. But maybe it makes sense if the group pane is closed for it to go back to ALL as well. Your probably running out of shortcut keys, so you may not want to waste one on this. I'd rather see the adjust to window with the info pain, it takes up more space than the groups
