I have two questions:

Can Bookends 9.0.4 version for OS 10.2 and version for OS 10.3 and above, share the same files?
Since my eMac 10.2.8 still can't mount Bookends .dmg compressed files due to error 95, woudn't be better to have Bookends 9.0.4, version for 10.2, compacted in any other format except .dmg format?
Thanks.

I haven't tried, but I don't see why not.

Did you look? On our download page we have two versions, one for OS 10.3 and above (zipped) and one for 10.2.x (stuffed).

Both result in a .dmg file my eMac OS 10.2.8 can't open, due to error 95, that as far as I know is the result of a bug in the operative system.

That's odd. I thought 10.2.8 could open .dmg files. No one else has complained so far -- does anyone else have 10.2.8 and has tested this (the .sit download, I mean)?

Just Google:
error 95 .dmg
I got 145.000 pages with it.

What's your point? That doesn't answer my question.

Sorry. My english is not good enough for details (portuguese mother tongue here). I was just asking if it is possible to have the Bookends version for OS 10.2 in other format (not .dmg) because there is a bug (or so) in OS 10.2 that makes opening .dmg impossible in some cases, with no easy solution to solve it.
Do you have a question? I fear I am not tecnically good enough to answer your questions. My point in showing "error 95 .dmg" in Google is to show that this problem is very commun in OS 10.2 and there is no easy solution to it.
I can't be more clear. My question was: Is it possible to have Bookends for OS 10.2 in other format? One not related to .dmg files? Just it.
Once again, I just opened the .dmg in my OS 10.4 Tiger iBook and installed it in the OS 10.2.8 eMac using a pen drive, as I use to do.
I am happy with Bookends, and I tested almost them all (the other biblio software for mac). That is not the problem. Stay Well.

Hi lidador,
What I'll do is to stuff (.sit) just the Bookends Folder without the .dmg. Hopefully that will download and unstuff properly on 10.2.8. I'll upload it in the next few days under the link that now points to a download for "10.2.x".
I think this will take care of the problem.

Thanks.
When done, I will unstuff it in my OS 10.2.8 eMac at work and report under this dialogue (thread).
Have a nice week-end.
