I've got my internal cache set to 200mb - I've got 1gb of RAM... is there a limit to the size of the database that i can have? i currently have one with ~40000 references, and it's 195mb... it seems like it's getting a bit large for the program to deal with effectively...

Hi,
I know of one user with >50K. I agree this is pushing things. Probably most limiting is the time it takes to fill out the list when you click on All (or open a database). One trick you may want to consider (you may NOT want to consider it, too) is to set Bookends to open in the Reference Window view. This will speed up opening the database quite a bit for the number of references you have.
