Best Practices Question: multiple refs for a single book ?

Hello, recently interested in keeping a bibliography. I've been marking passages in my books with sticky notes for a number of years and hope to import everything into Bookends for easy reference.
As I'm getting started I have a "best practices" question regarding multiple references from a single book. If you have multiple passages in a single book that you would like to store do people typically:
a) create a seperate reference for each passage and note the page number.
or
b) create one entry per book and place each passage in the Abstract section
I'm leaning towards option 'a' as it seems like it will be more flexible in the long run, even if it adds multiple entries per book. Interested in any feedback from folks who have been doing this longer.
thank you,
