SFX question

Bookends and EndNote generate slightly different URLs for the same book reference:
Here is Bookends:
[library URL]/sfx_local?sid=ISI:WoS&aufirst=Margaret&aulast=Ferguson&title=Dido's%20Daughters:%20Literacy,%20Gender,%20and%20Empire%20in%20Early%20Modern%20England%20and%20France&volume=&date=2003
[library URL]/sfx_local?sid=ISI:WoS&aufirst=Margaret&aulast=Ferguson&atitle=Dido's%20Daughters:%20Literacy,%20Gender,%20and%20Empire%20in%20Early%20Modern%20England%20and%20France&date=2003
The resulting lookup page is slightly different. It looks like Bookends is adding a "volume" parameter. Is that according to spec?
