Importing from Lexis Nexis
I am no sure where to post this but I am having a problem. One of the major online resources I use is LexisNexis Academic, and specifically, their law reviews. To ease my workflow, I would love to be able to access that website through the Bookends Browser (and I can do this) and then import the rev...

Re: Question about the search box
Thanks for the quick response, Jon. Unchecking the "Use Webkit..." option doesn't seem to make much difference. What does seem to make a small difference is closing a bunch of programs. I think my system was just getting overworked. But the core issue remains, which is that I think this se...

Question about the search box
Is there a way to NOT have the search box begin searching before I finish typing? I am a fairly fast typist, but if I am looking for "Steinberg" it often starts searching when I have gotten to the fourth letter and present the results. The problem for me is that I will have kept typing and...

PDFs and Notes: feature request
I'm currently considering the upgrade, but one feature that I hoped would come is still missing, and that is improved annotation in the style of Sente. This is not to belittle all of the work that has clearly been done on Bookends, but Sente's annotation/note-taking features are the one thing that e...

Re: Groups Pane View
That is definitely how it should work. But something went very wrong in my window (a fluke? a bug? a ?) such that the dimple was not visible. As I said in the post, the window was cut-off on the left side just in front of the "u" in Author in the main reference list pane. And there was no ...

Groups Pane View
I just did something, while resizing, that eliminated the Groups Pane completely from view (and even slightly truncated the reference list, cutting it off the "A" of "Authors" in the first field. Tried lots of things to fix it, including quiting and restarting Bookends, many resi...
Re: NoteCards
I really like rickl's workflow. One way to improve that for me would be to change the copy feature to include a way to "copy note + citation as hypertext link". That way, when going through DTPro (or Scrivener, or...) I can find my way back to the original reference relatively quickly. But...

Minimize Windows?
This problem has been annoying me for a LONG time. I can't seem to be able to minimize my bookends window without using the mouse (I tend to rely on the keyboard more than the mouse). The "minimize reference window" function doesn't seem to work (it is in grey). Control-M only allows me to...

Re: PDFs now viewed with AdobePDFViewer
Thanks. I really appreciate the fast support given here! I'll look into upgrading Adobe, though I'm not sure how easy that will be without paying for a new version of Adobe Acrobat Professional (provided by my workplace). Also, since I use Skim like the previous user, it may not be the perfect solut...

Re: PDFs now viewed with AdobePDFViewer
Just thought that I'd add that I had the same issue. I just upgraded from 10.1 to 10.3.1 and was surprised that I couldn't see any of my pdfs (all I got was the Adobe symbol). I turned off the webkit using Jon's instructions and that solved the problem. But I'm a little bummed it will impact my abil...
