When using google scholar for online search, one of the columns is the "Cited column". How many articles cited this one.
Is there a way to get a list of these articles? I know it is possible in google scholar on the web, but is it possible from within Bookends?
Thanks!

Re: From browser to bookends
Thanks!
OK, so I found a workflow for medRxiv. For now.
Download citation in bookends format.
open the RIS file in bookends.
Select the reference, right click, and select "GoTo URL".
Open pdf
"Open in Bookends",
add pdf to current reference.

Re: From browser to bookends
Thanks for the quick answer! Can you try the paper I gave above? It is open access, since it is medrxiv, so there's no access problem. When I download the pdf and drop into bookends (I drag the pdf onto the bookends icon in the dock) I get the "Attach to Imported Reference", and there I ca...

From browser to bookends
I'm trying to figure out a good workflow to get papers from my browser to bookends. I'm using Safari on OSX. Here's the paper I'm trying: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.07.06.22277306v1 Now, I have the "open in bookends" link as a bookmark. If I click on it when I see the web...

Re: How long should I wait?
UPDATE: I force quit again, empties the library, and loaded from iCloud. That took a few seconds. I think I lost the five entries I had on my work computer, but that doesn't matter, really.

How long should I wait?
I have two computers. At home I synced my database to iCloud. This took a few minutes. Now I'm at work, and I tried to sync from the cloud to my mac mini, and it has been two hours. These were both first syncs. I'm not sure how long I should wait till I decide the process failed. First I waited arou...

Find reference that has a certain attachement
I noticed that I have some PDFs in my PDF folder that have strange names. I'd like to find the reference that contains them. Is there
a way to search through the names of the attachments, or list all name of attachments?

Merging authors
I just moved my library over to Bookends. I noticed the following problem: Some authors appear multiple times with different versions, so, Lander, Eric S Lander, E S Lander, ES I'd like to be able to join these - and I noticed that this can be done by dragging one author on top of the other when dis...

Re: Date added field in a format
yyyy-mm-dd would work! Thanks.
BTW is the ID, @ preserved for the entry, so it will not change when new entries are added?
And is it increasing, so newer entries always will have a larger ID than older ones?

Re: Date added field in a format
I think under some conditions it would be useful. This would allow to keep the date added field when exporting to bibtex. I'm trying to do this to use my references also on an android device. A related question is this: For references that have multiple attachments, is there a way to add a sequentia...

Is there a way to include the date added field when exporting to bibtex?

apostrophe in filenames when importing from Papers
I exported my Papers database in XML format, and imported it into bookends. PDF attachments whose filename has an apostrophe in them, such as for the paper "Multicomponent Rank Selection as an Alternative to Haldane's Dilemma" appear in the XML file with an "'" instead o...

Re: Organizing PDF attachments
Thank you very much. Wow! I hadn't seen the biblio->formats manager dialog. That's exactly what I wanted.
