Re: Abbreviation list for institutional authors
Which is an excellent aid in entering information. But I was actually talking about the finished paper. Now I always get full author names. But what I would like to get is, for example, the first time 'United Nations Security Council' and in subsequent appearances UNSC. Just like instead of the 'Yea...

Abbreviation list for institutional authors
Would it be feasible to have an abbreviation list or glossary for the authors field as well? This would work exactly in the same way as the journal glossary. I am citing many texts where the author is an institution (eg United Nations Security Council, International Law Commission, Court of Justice ...

Re: Restrict the number of characters (words) during Attachment Renaming
This is nice. I'll wait for the stable release to try though.
What I've done with long title is to use short title as the primary option for file names: a d {s^t}
I also like to have clear separators between the elements: e.g. ___ (3xunderline)

Re: quicktag
Being able to nest smart groups makes it a little easier to organise complex searches and as such would be a welcome addition. But maybe of limited use only. For anything but the most common operations it might, in my opinion, be too complicated to maintain and use for search purposes only. At least...
Re: quicktag
Exactly. Ismail, what was wrong in your description at 3.55pm? Tags on the same level don't pull up each other - but penalised regression would of course pull up both lasso and elasticnet. Likewise, assigning lasso would assign also penalised regression and methods, but not elasticnet which is a sib...
Re: quicktag
In Sente quick tags are hierarchical and can be arranged using a quick tag palette. One can also assign a tag by checking a box in the palette. For me the move from hierarchical tagging was the biggest change but tag cloud in Bookends helps a lot and I find it easier to use than searches in Sente. B...

Re: Attach DEVONthink folder to Bookends reference
No, I don't think it works. In DevonThink folders are not real finder folders but more like representations of tags. If you look the files contained in one DevonThink folder often are in different finder folders. DevonThink can parse things together and create a folder when dragging and dropping to ...

Re: apostrophe in filenames when importing from Papers
The same thing happened with ampersands when importing from Sente. I only noticed this too late to be able to fix the xml file. Find and replace within BE worked for reference fields. But I still have a number of references that are missing a correct link to the file. I've been fixing the link whene...
