Re: Converting Bookends citations to BibTex Citations
Go ahead and try it. I think it will. Jon Sonny Software I have not actually ever used Bookends to generate Bibtex citations. Do I need adjust any settings beyond what I've done in the screenshot below before I do a proofreading Scan to convert "{Jones, 1991, #31577}" to Bibtex format? Sc...

Re: Converting Bookends citations to BibTex Citations
You want to change them to \cite{citekey}? Tell Bookends to generate BibTeX citations (Preferences, BibTeX tab) and then do a proofreading scan on the document. Bookends show change the temp citations accordingly. Jon Sonny Software Thanks so very much. Can this be done directly on the .tex file th...

Re: Converting Bookends citations to BibTex Citations
No, you would scan the document using the BibTeX format. Note that the document has to be plain text (not Word or another wp document) for BibTeX scanning to work. Please see the various tutorials (available in the Help menu) for details about scanning. The User Guide (also Help menu) has specific ...

Citation and "follow with text", rather than "precede with text"
Hello,
I know there is a native option to precede a citation with some desired text (e.g. "See, e.g., "). Is there a way to have desired text *follow* a citation (e.g. "; emphasis in original")?
Thanks!

Create group via scanning a document?
Hello, Is there a way to create a group out of all of the references that exist in a specific document? I presume this would be done via scanning the document and then having all scanned references placed into a new Bookends group? If this is not a native feature, would it be possible to implement i...

Re: Convert Author-Date format to Footnotes
UPDATE: Thanks to the kindness of Graham Mayor ( http://www.gmayor.com/ ), I finally have what I wanted. The following code creates an MS Word macro that takes each in-text citation (e.g. "{Brennan, 2007, #74498}", or "{Brennan, 2007, #74498; George, 2012, #5678; Maddow, 1998, #1234}&...

Re: Convert Author-Date format to Footnotes
Weird. I didn't change anything from the factory settings it came with, and mine came preset to use / . I've now changed it to semicolon, which I like better.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Convert Author-Date format to Footnotes
Unfortunately however, your macro produces three separate footnotes for "...{Brennan, 2007, #74498}{George, 2012, #5678}{Maddow, 1998, #1234}." Yes. But that's not the way you should be citing them for Bookends, anyway. It works, but the preferred method is to group them all in one set of...

Re: Convert Author-Date format to Footnotes
Given my own coding limitations, this is the best procedure I can find so far to move from in-text Bookends citations to footnote citations using MS Word. If you think you may need to toggle from one to the other, I think it's easiest to compose using in-text citations and then, if needed, use the s...

Re: Convert Author-Date format to Footnotes
I haven't tried it yet, but there's a post on the EndNote forum that may have a solution. http://community.thomsonreuters.com/t5/EndNote-How-To/Converting-in-text-citations-to-footnotes-endnotes/td-p/4438 Jon Sonny Software Thanks. My issue is that I don't know enough to know how to tweak it so tha...
