Open PDF with a specified application
Hi, would being able to set a default application to open PDFs in Bookends, that is different from Finder default application, make sense? Like, I use Highlights to work with PDFs from Bookends but I don't want Highlights to open every trivial PDF I have by default on my computer. Something similar ...

Re: Request: Printing attachments
Nice, I have missed that. You can't select multiple references from the list and print their attachments in bulk, right?

Re: Request: Printing attachments
I just wanted to post such request when I found this one from two years ago. Plus one from me then and here is hoping.

Re: Generate citekey when adding manually
Thanks for the tip with the keyboard shortcut. Is there any disadvantage of having citekeys generated by default?

Generate citekey when adding manually
Hi,
could we have the option "Create citekey when importing" also auto-generate them for manually added references? It's not much but that additional click to generate one adds up on multiple instances. Or perhaps a different checkmark option?
Cheers,
m.

Re: The Authors page - suggestions for the future
To your first point, Bookends has a "merge" function for Term Lists, it's done via drag and drop, and is faster and more intuitive than find/replace. Please see the user guide (Help menu) for how that works. Right, I forgot about that. Thanks! As for the suggestion...that would make Booke...

The Authors page - suggestions for the future
Hi, I've been spending my time in Bookends cleaning up the list of authors in the sibling panel of Groups with the Replace function (I was looking for "Merge" for a bit at first). It got me thinking that this part could perhaps use some love in the future iterations of Bookends. I could se...

Re: Author, Date - all text as a hyperlink to Bookends file
That did the trick, thank you. I was missing the format assignment for hypertext reference links.

Author, Date - all text as a hyperlink to Bookends file
Hello, I completely don't know how to crack this problem. What I would like to achieve is: 1. Invoke Floating Citations. 2. After finding and selecting the proper reference, I would like to paste the citation in the format of "(Author date)". So far so good. 3. I would also like the citati...

Came back to Bookends and have issues with Online Search
Hi, after a long break, I came back to Bookends and have one issue and one question concerning Online Search: 1. I don't have the option to select JSTOR as a search engine in Online Search. I do have it in the iOS version of Bookends and I could swear I could use JSTOR on the Mac. It's possible I me...

Re: Mellel and Bookends - changing styles
Another update on the first issue in Mellel with Bookends: Apparently, the icons are greyed out when you have the "Live Bibliography" turned on. One needs to switch it off, unscan and turn it back on. Why is it possible via the EDIT menu (with the Live Bibliography turned on) but not via t...

Re: Bookends and Mojave
PDFs with inverted colours (white text on black background) would be awesome with the dark mode (since striking-white pages of PDFs will break the... immersion anyway). And yes, I have heard it is not as easy as many would think.

Re: Mellel and Bookends - changing styles
With the help of Jon, we have discovered that I was using a font which did not have italicised version. Hence, it was not showing it in the italicised version.
Cheers Jon!
