Re: A.I. Integration
I'm glad to see this query. And I get how tricky this is going to be to implement.
What I have in mind is a little bit less than loading all of my documents. Instead, working with an LLM on my local machine, I would like to set up either a context or an RAG based on a subset of documents. So, for ...

Re: apply a keyword to multiple selected (or marked) items
Open Window > Term Lists > Keywords (you can search/filter the list) and drag-n-drop the keyword to the selected refs. I don't know how to do that for hits, other than go to hits folder and select-all then drag-n-drop...
It shouldn't be too difficult to make an applescript to take the current ...

apply a keyword to multiple selected (or marked) items
I'm at the end of a particular project, and so it's time to disperse a group, making space available for new projects. I would like, however, to have a "memory" of what was in that group by adding a common tag to all the items in that group. I cannot figure out how to do that from within the ...

Re: The pdf could not be saved. You don't have permission.
It appears to be a Preview problem. I quit the app, discarding any unsaved changes -- not that many, so no great loss -- and everything is back to normal.

I suspect you're right.
But, in the interest of continuing the documentation, here's yet another dialogue box:

The pdf could not be saved. You don't have permission.
Well, this is new. As in new this morning and with no update of which I was aware.
I use Bookends as my reference manager, and, as most of you here know, it saves PDFs to a folder in the never-never land of iCloud Drive. This morning, after opening a PDF to read and highlight, I am getting a ...

Re: text wrap of columns in basic view
I'll have to disagree that moving the title to the last column somehow solves the issue: there's only so much real estate when I'm working on a MacBook. (And, as you know, there's only so long a line can be, whether it's text or a row in a table, before the human eye and brain can't quite keep it ...

text wrap of columns in basic view
I keep my view in Bookends pretty simple: author, date, title, keywords. It makes it easy for me to scan when I don't necessarily know what I want to search for. But even with these few columns, something like titles get shortened a bit too much. Is there a way to "wrap" (as it is sometimes ...

Re: One library or many libraries
I've been working with one big library, but have always assumed that when I finish my current project and start working on a new topic, I'll create a new library to go with it.
This. I've got a large current project that has multiple dimensions, and a number of possible outputs, but there's also ...

One library or many libraries
I am still a fairly new user to Bookends, and I was just wondering how people used/organized their library/libraries. When I used Papers, I just kept everything in one big file. When I used BibTex, I tended to keep smaller, separate libraries.
In general, I prefer the "one big thing" that you then ...

Re: renaming attachments without spaces
I'm just going to add another informal request for this feature here. As a Paper 3 refugee, I'm loathe to have PDFs named in any way that isn't human-readable and not available for manipulation through the CLI. For me that's simply author_date or author_author_date, etc. Just being able to toggle ...
