Re: Ignoring the English article (The, an, a) of titles in the alphabetization of works by same author
Jon, how about titles of the same author that are separated by comas? For example what Bookends is outputting is the following: Sinclair, John. “Corpus Typology—A Framework for Classification.” In Studies in Anglistics , edited by G. Melchers and B. Warren, 17–33. Stockholm: Almqvist and Wiksell, 19...

Ignoring the English article (The, an, a) of titles in the alphabetization of works by same author
I am wondering if there is a way to set up Bookends so that it ignores the article (without removing it) of titles written by a same author in the alphabetization, when producing the bibliography. The output from Bookends right now is the following: Bauckham, Richard. “For Whom Were Gospels Written?...

Re: Conditional formatting for two editors "and" without <comma>
Jon, Using the solution you provided will not work if the author's name punctuation setting are the same as that of the editor. I assume you meant to say that in Name Punctuation "Editors same as authors" should not be check and the names in "Editors" field should be written as d...

Re: Conditional formatting for two editors "and" without <comma>
Jon, Is there now a solution to Adrian Petre’s request regarding the comma between names of the editors in a book and between names of the editors in a chapter with a different author? Or do we still need to resort to the kludge? This is a very common format for those using the SBL handbook of style...

Re: Feature Request: Context Sensitive Quotation Marks
Jon, Thank you for your reply. Yes, in the preferences Bookends is set to output smart quotes in English. I have followed your suggestion. Using Option + ] I have inserted a single smart quotation at the beginning of the title (and Option + Shift + ] to close the quotation). But this has not fixed t...

Re: Feature Request: Context Sensitive Quotation Marks
Jon, I would like to also inquire why is it that when a quotation is part of the title the output order is incorrect. I have bookends set to follow alphabetically Author,Title. (1) In the following example the first mention of the word Jew should have single quotation to differentiate it from the se...

Conditional formatting
Hello, I was wondering if there is someone out there who could help me with a conditional format. When I cite journal articles sometimes I am required to cite the basic information of the article (No DOI, no URL). However, when there is a DOI number I should included this number, and when there is a...

Re: Bibliography with repeating authors
Jon,
I have "Replaced repeated authors with ———" checked, yet it does not work. Bookends continues to repeat the name of the author. I am working with Mellel 4.
Thanks,
Moises

Importing .csl style into bookends
Good evening! I know that there are many style options available in Bookends, but the School where I am doing my PhD has its own specific style of citation. A version of the school's style of citation has been develop in zotero as a .csl file. I would like to import this style into bookends. How wou...
