Autofill City based on Publisher?
Hi all, This might be more of a suggestion/feature request or a cry for help. If there is one thing I hate about citation conventions is how some formats require the city of the publisher. With big printing presses buying up small independent ones, I never really know what city they belong to anymor...

Re: Duplicate entries and missing refs when importing from watch folder
So far so good with the new update. I'll report back if things go back to the way they were.

Re: Duplicate entries and missing refs when importing from watch folder
I've been having this issue for years and have never figured out a solution. I've done the troubleshooting in this thread. Was a solution ever found through contacting support?

Changing Day/Month order
Is there a way to change the day/month order. In my "newspaper" type, I've been filling in the Day (#) Month (e.g. 10 June) in this format. 8 March (2017 is filled in the date category). Chicago style, however, requires that the date be written as : Month Day, Year. Example: Manjoo, Farhad...

Is there a way to delete reference types/reset to default?
I messed up a few reference types in the preferences menu. Is there a way to delete them or restore the defaults? Or do i have to manually change the metadata fields?

Subsequent Citation
I'm looking for some help with formatting my citations. I'm formatting according to the American Sociological Association (ASA) which requires that ALL authors be listed in the first citation and then subsequent citation use et al. I see in the custom citation section it gives you the subsequent opt...

Dark Mode - Formats Manager
The field texts in the formats manager is not inverted. In dark mode, the text is black and difficult to see. Can this be changed? (see photo).
Also, the word REFS in the preferences window is blurred.

Re: Multiple refs in floating citations
You can select multiple refs if they're in the same list. You can accumulate selected from different searches. Can you explain how you can accumulate selected references from different searches? As soon as I select the second reference and hit enter, only the second reference appears in the text. T...

Multiple refs in floating citations
Great update with 13.4. I'm a bit confused with the selection of multiple references in floating citations. I'm assuming this can be done by searching in the floating citation window and then using Control+ Click / Shift + Click to grab multiple refs. This is super helpful, especially for citing mul...

Re: Watch folder duplicates
Sorry, I wasn't aware if Library vs Database were technical distinctions. I've seemed to resolve the issue. The watch folder was synced to my icloud. I'm not sure how this engages in a replication of the files, but moving the WATCH folder offline to my local harddrive only fixes the duplication issue.

When you say database do you mean library? I created a new library with a new watch folder and the first documented imported duplicated.

Re: Watch folder duplicates
It is configured to move.
This problem is ongoing. Reboots do not seem to fix the problem.
Here is a screenshot of what my imports look like after I've added a few PDFs to the Watch Folder by dragging and dropping or by saving directly from browser to Watch folder.

Watch folder duplicates
Whenever I download a PDF to the watch folder, it gets imported with duplicates. All 3 entries will have the name of the PDF with "reference metadata not found online" but only one will carry the attachment. I simply delete the other two and use Autocomplete Paper to retrieve the metadata ...

Formatting in-text citations for government departments
I'm wondering if there is a way to have the in-text citation for certain entries conform to a different set of rules. For example, there are some citations that should read (Government of Canada 2014) or (Department of Justice 2014) but in the bib they are always formatted as Justice, Department of....
