Re: What is the function of scanning the TEX files?

I have not used this feature but I can imagine using it to pull off hard copy content to insert directly to .tex-formatted grant proposals.

Re: Attachments not found

Have you considered moving your database and/or other storage-intensive file sets to an external storage?

That works in Bookends Browser. Please see the user guide (Help menu) and search for EZProxy for details.
Thank you. I searched in all places but there and used all sorts of search terms except the term EZProxy by itself. :?

How can I search on all content solely through my university EZProxy?

I am confused. I have entered my library EZProxy information. But, I do not see an option available in the list of drop-down options for on-line search to go only to the EZProxy service.

What am I missing?

Re: How do I use the Search Panel logic more effectively?

You can specify a Type in the find as well. I want to keep both sets of searches, the set with all documents and the set with only articles. Doesn't this suggestion mean that I have to duplicate my folder and/or duplicate each smart group? You might also consider using smart SQL searches in conjunc...

Possible Bug: Import from On-Line Did not Work

I created a library called "test". I imported a BibTeX file of 10 citations by drag+drop. I then did a drag+drop of 10 PDF files that were associated with the 10 citations. Unfortunately, I imported every reference file to attach to every citation. So all 10 citations each would end with 10 PDF file...

Re: How do I use the Search Panel logic more effectively?

I am still struggling with how to build an efficient, dynamic search criteria. I will give a specific use case. I want to find all citations that contain this logic: ((PDF: Langmuir) OR (content: Langmuir)) AND ((PDF: "quantum dot") OR (content: "quantum dot") OR (PDF: nanoparticle*) OR (content: na...

Did you see the Global Change function I mentioned?
Gosh. I really am feeling rather embarrassed.

That did exactly what I wanted. Thank you!

If you want to see the pathname, hover the cursor over the PDF image -- the full path name will appear.
Got it.

Thank you!

Re: How do I import a PDF attachment directly?

The only way to search through a PDF with the Spotlight search is when the file itself is in the default folder. Or am I missing something on that side that allows Smart groups to do Spotl...

Feature Request: Show Path to Attachment in Window

I would like to have the file path appear in the attachments window. This will help me eliminate duplicates from outside the Bookends local folder.

How do I import a PDF attachment directly?

I have a PDF attachment located in a different folder than the local BE folder. The PDF file shows in the bottom view, so its location is clearly already known to BE. For the life of me, I cannot find an immediate way to import the attachment directly to the local folder. Every option that I see mak...

I think you mean you'd put them in a folder and do an OR search.

Note that they don't need to be in the same folder. You can select both at once (with Command-click) and you'll get the boolean search you've selected.
Yes. I meant OR.
