Re: Pages 5.0
Jon, you are a bright man! You are also ahead of the Sente developers on this, it seems. Kudos!
Re: Pages 5.0
There is an official road map for Pages et alii here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6049?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US . Basically, they are going to gradually restore some functionality. Whether this will be enough for Pages 5 to become a useful word processor once again is anyone's guess. But,...
Re: Pages 5.0
Based on swilcox, here is what I posted on the Pages support page: ------------------------------ I'm very disappointed with the new Pages 5. You've removed AppleScript support, which means that the reference manager I use, Bookends -- and this is a product I use with pleasure and profit ever since ...

Bookends attachments folder and DevonThink database
I wonder, would it be possible to somehow keep my BE attachments folder inside the DevonThink database? Presently I keep that folder in /Documents/ and simply synchronize it in Devonthink so as to be able to search and view all attachments within DT. But whenever I wish to run a PDF attachment throu...

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
I agree with an earlier commenter that the new Pages could be a real competitor (even though I have enjoyed Mellel). I think Pages has the same solid feeling as Mellel, and it also has a well-conceived system of character and paragraph styles, and it allows to attribute hot keys to styles. So guess...

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
Hmm. I've had more trouble. I was able to scan after (1) setting Bookends to use Pages as the word processing program in preferences, (2) saying to save as package in preferences, AND (3) saying NOT to worry about ambiguous references (in the same preference pane). Until doing (3), Bookends would b...

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
Okay, I'm happy to report that--after solving a technical snag with the help of Jon's usual speedy efficiency--I'm being able to scan Pages 09 docs, too. Jon, thanks for the fantastic work!

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
Nope, can't scan a '09 doc with some dozen citations saved as a bundle. The process starts, but then I get a string of Ambiguous Citation windows stating fake ambiguous citations such as (without the external quotes) ""y|", ""1|", ""3<6=?>J`@{A".

Re: Bookends and Apple Pages '09
I have submitted feedback to Apple, too, and I specifically mentioned my disappointment that only one bib-references manager has made it to work with Pages, and the fact that I'm a Bookends happy customer. Jon, this Pages update is important. For the first time, SEAMLESS--as far as I can see--transl...

10.4.1 feedback: One problem, one suggestion
Jon, kudos for the amazing improvements in 10.4.1. I find links especially useful. So here is some specific feedback. 1) In the right-side panel, whenever I change anything to a field and then save (either bey hitting the Close button or by clicking somewhere in list view), I get this "SQL Erro...
Thanks!!
Jon, Kudos, great work! It's wonderful to see you tamed the beast (Pages '08 ). After three years using your software, I find it ever more valuable. It's always on these days, either for standalone work or for team work with whatever word processor I happen to be using. Thank you for making a stella...
