Re: Citekey duplicates on iOS?
The citekeys are regenerated de novo, and of course if there are duplicates the one that is encountered first gets the primary citekey and the other is disambiguated. If one or more is used to create temp citations in a paper being written, then yes, you'd have to ensure that the temp citations for ...

Re: Citekey duplicates on iOS?
Assuming you are syncing the iPad to Bookends Mac, you can select all references (Command-A) or just the problematic ones and use Refs -> Generate Citekey. This will update the citekeys for the selected references and ensure there are no duplicates.

Re: Hide Elements from UI?
The Types you don't use in a format don't show up in the popup menu, so I'm not sure what you mean. If there is a format we distribute with Types you don't use, you can remove them (Delete Type at the bottom of the popup menu).

Re: Standard to Premium Subscription?
The tiers are the same, we just simplified the names. Standard is a one=time purchase that gives you access to the main features. Premium is a yearly subscription that adds nice-to-have features like cloud sync, sharing libraries with others, scanning Mellel documents (requires Mellel Mobile), PDF ...

Re: Copying PDFs to default Bookends folder when importing from XML
On the EndNote import from more than one library in the same database issue -- I just tried this and had no problem (EndNote 21). There is one circumstance that you would see this, but I doubt this is the case. If Bookends can uniquely identify a reference (e.g. my DOI or PMID), it won't import it ...

Re: Scan document does not work
This is a bug in Sequoia 15.5, or at the very least a substantial change in behavior that is affecting the request for Word to access Bookends. I've come up with a workaround. When you contact me I'll send you a new build, and if it solves the problem for you, too, I'll make it available.

Re: Scan document does not work
I thought so. I ran into this problem myself yesterday (at least it seems like the same problem). Once you contact me we can look for a solution.

Re: Copying PDFs to default Bookends folder when importing from XML
Fast-forwarding to the "Global Change" function of Bookends that you suggested, it is destructive. In this move, the PDFs are relocated from their original locations. Importing data from another application should never compromise the integrity of that application's data. We can agree on this ...

Re: Online Search via Google Scholar requires Captcha almost everytime
P.S. I think you are referring to the direct search. You can also use Bookends Browser to search Google Scholor (set the bookmark to take you there when the browser window opens). If you've configured the Google Scholar settings properly, you'll see the option Import into Bookends after each ...

Re: Online Search via Google Scholar requires Captcha almost everytime
I don't know why Google thinks you're a robot, but there are things that you can do that might make this less likely. One is to sign into Google Scholar (in Bookends Browser or Safari, click on the hamburger icon and then My profile. Another is to limit the number of references you download at a ...

Re: Scan document does not work
It sounds like Bookends and Word don't have permission to send AppleEvents to each other. Go to System Settings -> Privacy -> Automation and see if both are shown, and if so make sure to enable communication between them. If you don't see them or changing the settings doesn't help, you can reset ...

The plus sign is at the bottom left of the list of formats. I'll include a screenshot in the next version of the User Guide.
