Re: Unable to select text in a PDF
I assume that as before this problem isn't restricted to one PDF. Can you tell me how to reproduce the problem (e.g. what series of steps leads to the text being unselectable)? It must be very specific since the problem is so rare.

Re: How to modify a BibTex format?
Assuming the name is in the Translator field (user3), you can insert a new line in the BibTeX.fmt order field. Like this, between author and editor: author = {$a}, $ translator = {$u3*}, $ editor = {$e}, $ The * after u3 tells Bookends to treat the contents of that field as a name. Jon Sonny Software

Re: Bookends 15.0.4 will not open libraries in file-sync service folders
There is no setting for where the library is located, you may be referring to the setting for the default attachments folder. Just move the library (.bdb file) in the Finder yourself to Documents, if that's where you would like it and then double click on it to open it. If OneDrive is just backing u...

You can also send me this PDF and I'll try the extraction here.

Re: Missing PDF-Annotations when Extracting
I recently had another user who had intermittent problems with extractions that I couldn't reproduce. I believe that after rebooting several times (and upgrading the OS, which is a confounding factor) it worked again as expected. Please try the rebooting part, maybe in safe mode (Shift key held down...

Re: Difficulties downloading from Ovid connection
I very much doubt it's user error. I'm guessing that whatever Ovid is telling Bookends the downloaded content is isn't something that Bookends recognizes. Unfortunately, because it's behind a paywall, it's not something I can debug. I suggest you download it via your normal browser and attach it to ...

Re: How to debug an import filter
No log, but you can build your own dummy data source in a text editor, starting with only a few fields, and import from the clipboard. Get the simplest version to work then see what happens as you add more complexity to the data and the filter's tagged fields.

Re: Scanning with Bookends for iOS and Mellel Mobile
It should be in Announcements and referred to by a post in both forums I think. I'm on vacation so it will be a bit before I get around to that, though.

Re: Multiple publishers
If you always use SBL, the simplest thing would be to enter the information as you want it output in the publishers field, and omit the location as a separate item. E.g. Nashville, Tenn.: Thomas Nelson Publishers; Waco, Tex.: Word Books Alternatively, you could leave the data as entered now and repu...

Re: Using Search query through Notion
Bookends doesn't have a mechanism to respond to a search request using a URI. There are two ways to do what you want, though. 1. Copy the link to the reference in Bookends and paste it into Notion (don't have that app, so I don't know if that''s possible or if it will recognize it as a link). There ...

Re: Import .ris file always end up blank
I copied the RIS text to the clipboard and imported into Bookends from the clipboard without a problem -- 3 references imported. Please try that yourself. If it still doesn't work for you, try with a fresh new empty library. Finally, if you can import from the clipboard but not the file, please send...
