Using this method, though, how would one get excerpts, notes, etc by source, as that's what's needed to write from the review matrix.

How would you accomplish this process in Bookends?

I'm hoping to create a series of sort-of Literature Review matrices in Bookends. Hi Jon, Okay, I think I might have figured it out - please confirm. On Mellel When creating a custom temporary citation, put it in brackets as we said above. For example, {Brown 2001}. On MELLEL, you must first select "Convert Text to Citations." THEN you can scan the document and it'll be...

Hi Jon,

I am having Mellel convert the text.

So, I'm looking for a way I can cite something without having to switch back to Bookends or look at any additional information. If I type something, and happen to know that Brown wrote it in 2001, I'm hoping to be able to simply type {Brown 2001}.
