Re: Alphabetizing by 1st Author then date
Hi Jon, sorry for the late reply - had a conference and a lot of non-desk work. I updated to 11.3.7 and still see the same ordering issue. Once I update to 12, I'll try that. If you are interested, I can send you a copy of my reference format and library.

Re: Alphabetizing by 1st Author then date
Yeah, I can see what I can do. About to submit this MS (which is why I'm futzing with the references), which means I'll be free to upgrade to the next version of 11. (self imposed rule to never upgrade along the final stretch, before submission
)

Re: Alphabetizing by 1st Author then date
Thanks for the reply, Jon. I've confirmed that there are only years in the date, so I'm not sure what's doing on here. Thanks for the suggestion on URLs. I thought about sending the html markup, but figured the same thing would happen. I'll see if mellel has a way to handle it - I'm thinking probabl...

Alphabetizing by 1st Author then date
Seems like this should be simple, and I've never had this problem before. In references manager, Alphabetize references is selected, with 1st Author, Date, Other Authors. However, in my list of references produced when scanning the document from Mellel, I end up with this sort of order (for simplici...
Re: congrats
Hi Jon, I figured there was one group that was doing a number of those, as many journals have the same sidebar with the same options and the same file naming conventions. Re UTF-8, the worst offender was the American Geophysical Union who used a Western ISO formatting. It turns out that since very r...
congrats
I just noticed that Bookends is now included in the list of reference manager formats available from several major science journals, including Science.
Now if they'd all just start using unicode and actually abide by the RIS format.

display uploaded refs (server)?
For RIS text file submission via BE Server, I've included: multiple="" name="upfile[]" so that more than one RIS file can be submitted at once (with webkit and gecko). Instead of submitting this directly to BEpost , I am instead using php to echo out the contents of the text file...

Re: N1 - field in RIS imports to abstract
Done. Thanks. (Didn't realize bookends included that functionality)

N1 - field in RIS imports to abstract
This is easy to reproduce - just display a reference with notes as RIS, copy the RIS formatted citation, and then import from clipboard. The N1 field will be moved to AB. Is there a workaround, perhaps directly importing to a user field instead of notes? I've confirmed this with the current version ...
