I can confirm that this is sometimes useful. I have occasionally wished for such a possibility.
Thanks,

Re: Scan epub
Yes, I was sure that it was not simple, since you had said so.
Thanks for the links.

Re: Scan epub
Thanks for the reply. In my mind, the ePub file was just a text file, such that it would be something like going through the document looking for something in the format {xxx, xxxx, #xxxx} and replacing it with the full citation, with markers for italics. Obviously it is more complex than that. Anyw...
Scan epub
I've been writing in Ulysses of late. I was wondering if it would be very difficult to include the possibility of scanning an ePub file. It seems a bit circuitous to produce the ePub from a Word Processor if Ulysses (for example) will produce it directly. To my naive and uninformed mind, it shouldn'...

Re: Workflow question
I wonder if anybody can describe how they use the Link References feature. Perhaps there is a video tutorial or blog post somewhere on this (I suspect not). I'm not so much interested in the technicalities of how to do this, since this is found in the documentation. More interested in how people use...

Did you notice that there is a difference between "Book" and "Edited Book"?

Re: Annotating pdfs/extracting highlights as quotes
Sounds nice. But if there were to be any way to make the resulting notecards/virtual notecards indexable in Devonthink, it'd be even better. We have discussed this before, and I know that this is a separate issue, but perhaps if what you are thinking of were to be linked with some way to make Devont...

Re: Suppress title
Depending on the citation stye used, it might well be that one would omit both author name and title in a footnote.
The in-house style used where I work requires this.
I think it would be a good idea to include the possibility.
For what its worth,

For what it's worth, I'd be glad to hear of how clever people use links too.

Re: New integration with DEVONthink Pro
Yes, syncing would be what we'd really want. I had enquired about the possibility of DTP indexing the notecards, or something but that appeared not to be possible. I wonder, though, whether the underlying changes in the two apps mean that such a day is getting closer. I'm afraid I don't know what &q...

Re: New integration with DEVONthink Pro
Perhaps I can expand a little. What I was thinking was as follows: 1. Create new reference with pdf attached (and indexed in DTP). 2. Open the pdf in Skim, and highlight, note, and mark up (these marks will be visible though not indexed in DTP). The advantage of such marking up would simply be to ai...

Re: New integration with DEVONthink Pro
I've just been thinking of how best to use this new integration. If anybody would be so kind as to explain their workflow, I would be grateful. I have been noticing that Bookends may be a better place than Devonthink to keep reading notes, with all the labels, keywords and so on. I've already been m...

Re: Update 11.2.2
I downloaded only one version of the recent update, yesterday (therefore the silent update version). I found that any attempts to attach pdfs caused the application to freeze. Then I tried Macula's suggestion, and it worked for me. Interesting.

Re: How difficult would it be...? (Indexable notecards)
Yes, I know that. What I would like to do is go to a library with my little Bookends on Tap thingy, take notes on stuff, sync with Bookends on Mac and then have those notes available on Devonthink. I know that I can take notes on my little Devonthink to Go thingy, but that means that my notes won't ...

How difficult would it be...? (Indexable notecards)
I really have no idea what is involved, but I would be very glad if one day Bookends notecards came to indexable by Devonthink. I understand that it can't be done right now, so I'm just curious how difficult it would be to have this implemented.
