How exactly does one submit bug requests to Microsoft? The only avenue I could find was Microsoft Connect but after getting registered I found it wasn't accepting bug reports for Office.

Re: Scanning messes up manuscript's format
It appears I'm running into a different consequence of this problem. If I have a manuscript in Word 15.30 for the Mac and I scan using Bookends 12.7.7 after the scan not only can formatting be messed up but more importantly all the Bookends placeholders are gone. In other words, it is no longer poss...

Re: Google scholar searches not working
I just had Google scholar search fail to work from Bookends (12.2.4). It works fine from the web interface. This was my first attempt to use the citation import in several days so I don't think it's due to a search limit ban, unless they last much longer now. Perhaps they just changed their output f...

feature request for Cortex format
Hi, the journal Cortex (http://www.elsevier.com/journals/cortex/0010-9452/guide-for-authors) stipulates that when there are two authors they should be separated by an "and" in the reference list, not just in the citation. Could you add an option to support this under Bibliography options? ...

Re: Feature Request: boolean in live search field
okay, sounds like we're on the same page now. So my suggestion then is to modify Live Search so that it works more transparently and more flexibly. Here are my ideas (for what they are worth): either use "and" rather than space as meaning the Boolean AND or have live search ignore the word...

Re: Feature Request: boolean in live search field
Yes, I know what a boolean search is. That's why I used the term in the title to my post. If you are saying that Live Search is indeed supposed to use booleans then this is a bug report because it's not working. Here are the particulars: OS X 10.6.2 Bookends 10.6.3 (all the current updates, includin...

Feature Request: boolean in live search field
Hi, I love Bookends, switched from Endnote and never looked back. One request: could you enable boolean searches for the live search field? It would be easier than having to go to the Find window. Also, it caused me some confusion. It took me awhile to realize that typing in "ERP and N400"...
Re: NeoOffice
Hi, I meant more like the level of support available for Word, like having access from within the application and command-Y automatically switching to the document and pasting in the citation. Or is that not possible yet for NeoOffice/OpenOffice? I'm not sure how well they support Applescript and al...
Re: NeoOffice
I'd like to chime in requesting support for OpenOffice/NeoOffice as well. The 3.01 release was a big improvement and it's starting to look like a viable replacement for Word, including support for .doc and .docx and also change tracking. In my experience with it thus far, it is already running bette...

silent update?
I've just run into the same problem and am looking forward to the fix. By "silent update" what do you mean? How will we know when it is ready?
Thanks!

Microsoft support?
What Microsoft support? I looked on the website and it appears I would have to pay to get their help and it's really more a bug report than something that I expect they could help me with. I could send it in via the feedback mechanism but you don't get replies from that. The free support resource is...

Ah, I see! Knowing that it is based on the style sheets is very helpful. It would be nice if the fonts weren't based on that but I can work with it. As for the spellchecking, it's really not just a Word bug, it's a BookEnds-Word bug. The Word guys will just say that BE is doing something wrong and I...

font and spellchecking issues in Word 2004
Hi, I'm very happy with how Bookends 9.1 is working for me using Word 2004 11.3 on OS X 10.2.8. I do have a couple issues that I run into and was wondering if anyone has any tips on them. 1) I get inconsistent fonts with citations. When I scan a document to convert the temporary placeholders into ci...

fixed!
It appears this problem was due to my Mac crashing at one point while having the second BE database open over the network. Apparently this left something out of whack. Clearing the database list fixed the problem and it hasn't come back. I thought this was a reoccurence of a problem that happened a ...
