Re: Refer to first footnote in which the title appeared?
Ah okay, thanks a lot. Would it be possible to get the footnotes from Mellel when scanning and do it automagically somehow? Although I'm aware of the unlikeliness of this, but perhaps you can take it as a feature request?!

Re: Abbreviated first name?
Oh thanks, it probably was too obvious.

Refer to first footnote in which the title appeared?
Is it possible to refer to the first footnote in which the book or article was first cited. The first reference in footnote 5 would be e.g. 5) Doe, John, "My great article", GPPA 2010, pp. 234-256 and then e.g. 10) Doe, John, Fn. 5), p. 245 I know this is probably only possible with some i...

Abbreviated first name?
Can I somehow use an abbreviated first name for authors and editors, i.e. "K. Marx" instead of "Karl Marx"?

Misspelled author always gets suggested
When I first enteres the name of a specific author, I misspelled it, I've written his first name "WIlfried" instead of "Wilfried". A few days later I fixed that. Unfortunately, whenever I want to enter his name again, the misspelled version is suggested, although t's spelled corr...

Pasting of formatted text in fields.
Is there any reason why you can paste formated text in fields like e.g. "title"? As far as I understand, the formatting is ignored by Bookends, right? Wouldn't it be more convenient to paste it as plain text as a default (at least when pasting in reference fields)?

[Bug?] Search does not automatically update hits.
I recently searched for a misspelled word and corrected it in a book title. When I corrected it, the list of hits did not automatically refresh, i.e. the entry did not disappear. I had to enter the word again in the search field. I don't know if this is the right place for a bug report, but I hope i...
Did you notice that Office 2008 will have its own bibliography tool? I hope they don't break compatibility with others to promote their stuff.

I won't comment on future plans for Bookends. But I will say that interface just got a pretty big facelift with Bookends 10, and so far the feedback has been very positive. Now I'm focusing (as usual) on functionality. Sorry, Jon, I didn't want to sound rude. Bookends 10 was a big step in the right...

Again: Cocoa version of Bookends?
There won't be any 64-bit Carbon framework anymore in Leopard. It looks like Apple won't push it any further in the future (that's a guess, I admit). Moreover the new Interface of Sente 5 shows what modern Cocoa interfaces can look like. Although there's still a lot of space for improvements, espaci...
