can I download 9.2.2?

I'm sure I will upgrade to v10, but for now I want to download 9.2.2.

By the way, when I checked for updates, it told me 9.1 was up to date. Liar! :D

problem with search window?

I haven't figured out exactly when it doesn't work, but sometimes if I bring up the search window with cmd-F and enter say an author's name, it won't show any entries. But if I enter the name into the drop-down search thingy in the list view it will show up. Anyone else seeing this? (I just realized...

It was blank until I hit "New" and entered the names manually. I assume it happened when I deleted my preferences.

how do I select import filters

If I go to the Import Filter Manager, I can only enter filters manually. Isn't there a way of checking off which filters I want from my Import Filters folder?

I have the Import Filters folder in the Bookends Folder under Apps, and it has JSTOR in there. My custom import folder is empty, but I don't think I had anything in there.

I did delete my prefs recently, I was getting some error when trying to launch. Can you tell if there's anything I need to do?

importing from JSTOR

Did there used to be more options when importing a file in Bookends? It gives me a choice between Bookends, Bookends Pro, Bookends tab-delimited, and XML (EndNote). None of them worked with the text file I exported from JSTOR (under the option "Directly export citations into EndNote, ProCite, o...

That's what I thought, I've imported RIS before, maybe there's something wrong with the export function. I tried changing it to .ris but it didn't work.

importing .ri file?

This may be answered already, but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to export from a database that gives you an option of EndNote, ProCite, and Reference Manager. It creates a .ri file that I wasn't able to import.

Is there something I need to do to import it?

entering month and day for newspapers

Is there a way to use a shortcut to enter the Month and Day for newspaper articles in the Mon&Day field. If I want the output to give the whole date, I couldn't figure out a way if I could just enter, say 2/15. And there is no autocomplete, so I have to enter the full month. Also, is there a way...

Zotero for Firefox

I don't think it's been mentioned in here, I thought people might be interested if they haven't heard of it. It's a great extension for Firefox 2.0, it pulls bibliographic information from various web sites, and you can export to RIS among other formats.

I'm not sure what happened, but everything seems to be working now. I used MisFox to set Bookends as the creator and helper of .ris. That didn't seem to do any good. "Import to RefMan" from google scholar still tried to open bibdesk. But oddly enough, after that, I was then able to select...

locating pdfs on hard drive?

The release notes for the latest version says "Automatically locate pdfs on your hard drive and attach them."

Is this explained in the user guide somewhere?

I didn't think such a thing would be feasible, but I would love something like this as well. I've got hundreds of academic papers on my HD, and when I download papers, I don't always bother exporting and then importing the reference (often from JSTOR, and most of the time I won't need it anyway). An...

I may be an idiot, but I couldn't make the drag-and-drop work. I was able to import by changing the .ris file to .txt and importing in Bookends.

Can someone give me step-by-step instructions if it's working for you?

Thanks...

Sorry, never mind, it seems to be working now. It appears to recognize the space bar, I just reentered the comma with one space after.
