Re: After reinstalling BE 11, "Can't open format!"
I think I found the answer in Jon's post to the "Upgrade issue" thread. Quoting: 1. Trash the file ~/Library/Application Support/Bookends/Installed Version.txt 2. If you had opened any custom formats, find the unconverted (11.x-compatible) version in ~/Library/Application Support/Bookends/...

Re: Upgrade issue
I'll run through the steps described above. I opened a new thread which this seems to answer.

After reinstalling BE 11, "Can't open format!"
I have reinstalled BE 11 after facing problems with testing BE 12. Now, every time I open a DB or select a record, a dialog box appears: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9569719/Bookends11Err1.png In addition, I cannot display formatted citations. In fact, the error message only appears if I have...

Re: Expanded Turabian
I've been using my Turabian formats for close to three years now, and had started an email exchange with Jon way back when. I don't think of the format as finished, but it works well enough to use. Many of the fields are less than consistent between work types, though, and in one case I'm using a bu...

Re: Upgrade issue
I am fuming about ths upgrade as well. I am using Snow Leopard and think it important to test the upgrade before committing to it, so I retained a copy of Bookends 11 in a separate folder. Of course the trial of Bookends 12 overwrites support files needed by Bookends 11, and no advice was given on h...

Bookends trashed my folders containing references
In Bookends 11.1.1, I try to attach a folder to a reference. The folder is not attached but is placed in the Trash. Here are the steps: 1. Select Attach > Attach a folder… 2. Select the folder to be attached to the reference. 3. The "Attach to Ref…" dialog appears, asking "Do you want...

Re: Expanded Turabian
I'm now working on an updated, expanded, corrected set of Turabian formats, and will share the results. If you think you could use these formats, please kibbitz. I have the 6th edition of the Turabian guide, and will use online guidance to changes in the 7th (latest) edition. My priority is historic...

Expanded Turabian
Are there no other historians out there?
I need Turabian formatting for archival materials, government documents, reprint editions of books, etc. The Turabian formats included by default lack all these things.
If you've expanded your Turabian formats, please share!
