Re: Amazon uk online search impossible

If I may add this: I experienced the same with Delicious Library which had lost access to many non-US Amazon sites quite a while ago. When I could not use the German Amazon site—at this very moment still working in Bookends , fingers crossed!—for bibliography data anymore I set Delicious Library to ...

Bookends On Tap and iCloud drive sync

The user guide for the new 12.7 version of Bookends says: The reference information in your libraries will be seamlessly transferred between all Macs on which you use Bookends. For libraries (databases), Bookends uses Apple's iCloud Drive […]. Syncing via iCloud Drive works "between all Macs". So th...

New iOS 9 Save As PDF feature

Just recently I purchased an iPad as a mobile companion to my Mac and I was very disappointed how bad the results were when I tried to save web pages as PDF. And I had tried more than just one third party solution. So when I found out that iOS 9 had a native Save As PDF feature I installed the beta....

Sync with non-MAS version of Bookends possible?

I must apologize for my probably very stupid question but I'm a very new iOS user. On the other hand I'm a long time Bookends user on the Mac, since the days no one had ever heard about any app stores at all. And that's what my question is about: Can I sync Bookends On Tap with the non-MAS version o...

Re: Footnote font

Like Jon said, Bookends sends plain text. It is Scrivener that changes the font.

You can set the footnote fonts of both inline and inspector footnotes in the formatting preferences of Scrivener. See screenshot below.

Re: Many authors

I wonder in which way or which which software you were able to integrate screen pictures into the text you have published in this thread. The forum software allows you to do so. When you post a reply your will find this: upload_image.png Click on Upload attachment—you will have to scroll or click o...

Re: Many authors

Thanks, Jon. I did all the right things except for the one that I used one of the few multiple author books in my current database for testing reasons that had the authors and their initials mixed up right from the Amazon import. And that caused unwanted results. I fixed the author names and voilà, ...

Re: Many authors

Lloyd, the key is the setting for the custom citation format in your screen shot. The citation format you use is "-school". Then your final citation will look like you defined it in "-school". But for temporary citations you can either use one of the defaults or a customized citation format—and this...

Re: Many authors

Raymond, to make things clear (hopefully): You are talking about temporary citations here not final citations, right? What makes me wonder is that in other postings you mention you are using Mellel and Mellel does not show at all the temporary citation delimiters (i. e. the curly brackets) because i...

Book and book chapter with same author

Hello! I have got a question: For book chapter references I use this formatting: a, »t« ~(Übers. v. ~u3~)~ $; in: $ e^a$:$ v. l: u2~ Auflage~ d, $S. $p–$. As long as the book is an anthology or something like that, i. e. if it has an editor or an author different to the author of the chapter this fo...

Re: German letter "ß" in Simple Search

I must apologize if I can't add anything useful but I just discovered this threat while being in a hurry and looking for something else in this forum. Anyway, it seems that my Bookends is working the opposite way to the OP's one: I look for a name with an ß and not only find every entry with this na...

Re: Umlauts damaged in online references imported from Amazon

The latest build fixed it. Thanks again for immensely fast help! But while we're at it another thing regarding amazon.de: Amazon always had the city as part of the publisher field so for every title dragged out of amazon.de manual rework was necessary. But now in Bookends 11 or at least its latest b...

Umlauts damaged in online references imported from Amazon

Dear Jon,

I searched amazon.de for a book, imported it but all umlauts were damaged.

This did not happen with Bookends 10 and amazon.de. Did you change anything or did they?

Basic Together support/Set to list of writing apps

I'd love to see basic Bookends support in Together . A huge part of my notes in Together are excerpts and the references come from Bookends . Drag & Drop already works but it would be very handy if cmd-y was available in the usual way. Scanning of the notes in Together in my opinion is not necessary...
