Adding books by scanning their barcodes with Bookends for iOS is very handy. However, the new items always need a bit of work. This is not a complaint, because of course Bookends can only fetch the data provided by the respective source.
Later, I add the missing data to Bookends manually on my Mac ...

Re: How to seperate author and co-author
Thank you again, I will look into that.
There is no specific output format at the moment. I simply use Bookends temporary citations for every quote from every text I read. These quotes may end up in a text, and I will use whatever format I prefer at the time, or, more likely, whatever the publisher ...

Re: How to seperate author and co-author
Thank you very much.
Surprisingly, this is the first time I have ever needed such a citation, and I have been a (happy!) Bookends user since at least version 9.

How to seperate author and co-author
I have to apologise for my fuzzy topic, English is not my first language and I can't find the right term.
Here's what I'm about: Sometimes famous people write books, usually memoirs. Only they don't actually write the book, they jot down or dictate their memories and have a real author turn them ...

Re: Allow right click (to copy citations) when Bookends in background
Once I get it on the clipboard and into Obsidian as a property, I don't really need bookends until I compile the final paper. Bit of a mischaracterisation there because Bookends is in constant use, but only that use, as I gather new papers or other sources.
As a Bookends , DEVONthink, and ...

Re: Amazon uk online search impossible
If I may add this: I experienced the same with Delicious Library which had lost access to many non-US Amazon sites quite a while ago.
When I could not use the German Amazon site—at this very moment still working in Bookends , fingers crossed!—for bibliography data anymore I set Delicious Library to ...

Bookends On Tap and iCloud drive sync
The user guide for the new 12.7 version of Bookends says:
The reference information in your libraries will be seamlessly transferred between all Macs on which you use Bookends. For libraries (databases), Bookends uses Apple's iCloud Drive […].

New iOS 9 Save As PDF feature
Just recently I purchased an iPad as a mobile companion to my Mac and I was very disappointed how bad the results were when I tried to save web pages as PDF. And I had tried more than just one third party solution.
So when I found out that iOS 9 had a native Save As PDF feature I installed the beta ...

Sync with non-MAS version of Bookends possible?
I must apologize for my probably very stupid question but I'm a very new iOS user.
On the other hand I'm a long time Bookends user on the Mac, since the days no one had ever heard about any app stores at all.
And that's what my question is about: Can I sync Bookends On Tap with the non-MAS version ...

Re: Footnote font
Like Jon said, Bookends sends plain text. It is Scrivener that changes the font.
You can set the footnote fonts of both inline and inspector footnotes in the formatting preferences of Scrivener. See screenshot below.

I wonder in which way or which which software you were able to integrate screen pictures into the text you have published in this thread.
The forum software allows you to do so.

Re: Many authors
Thanks, Jon. I did all the right things except for the one that I used one of the few multiple author books in my current database for testing reasons that had the authors and their initials mixed up right from the Amazon import. And that caused unwanted results. I fixed the author names and voilà ...

Re: Many authors
Lloyd, the key is the setting for the custom citation format in your screen shot.
The citation format you use is "-school". Then your final citation will look like you defined it in "-school". But for temporary citations you can either use one of the defaults or a customized citation format—and ...

Re: Many authors
Raymond, to make things clear (hopefully): You are talking about temporary citations here not final citations, right? What makes me wonder is that in other postings you mention you are using Mellel and Mellel does not show at all the temporary citation delimiters (i. e. the curly brackets) because ...
